AHS MANAGED PROPERTY EASTIN GRAND HOTEL SAIGON APPOINTS MICHAEL SCHUMACHER AS GENERAL MANAGER

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (April 2026) – Absolute Hotel Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Michael Schumacher as General Manager of Eastin Grand Hotel Saigon, further strengthening the leadership team at one of the city’s most recognised upscale hotels.

Michael Schumacher brings over 30 years of international hospitality experience, with a distinguished career spanning Europe and Asia. Known for his hands-on leadership style and strong operational discipline, Michael has built a reputation for driving commercial performance, cultivating service excellence, and developing high-performing teams across diverse markets.


Most recently, Michael served as General Manager of Oakwood Residence Hanoi, where he led full operations of a 250-key serviced residence with extensive facilities. During his tenure, he delivered 26% year-on-year growth in Food & Beverage revenue, revitalised outlets, strengthened audit compliance, and successfully implemented a major PMS transition with no operational downtime. Under his leadership, the property achieved market-leading guest satisfaction scores, reinforcing its competitive position.


Previously, Michael held several General Manager roles with Accor, including Pullman and Novotel properties in China and Mongolia. His experience includes hotel pre-openings, major renovations, ownership transitions, revenue optimisation, and cost efficiency initiatives. Earlier in his career, he progressed from Executive Chef to senior F&B leadership roles, which provided him with a strong commercial and guest-centric foundation.

While Michael is already based in Ho Chi Minh City, he is scheduled to officially commence his role on April 22, 2026, subject to the completion of his work permit process. With Michael’s appointment, Eastin Grand Saigon is well-positioned to strengthen its reputation as a preferred destination for both business and leisure travellers.
